We have all become captivated with ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos over the last month. It is always enjoyable to watch someone dump a bucket of ice water on themselves, and the fact that it is for a good cause makes it even better.
ALS, commonly called Lou Gehrig’s Disease, stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. According to the ALS Association website, ALS is “a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord”. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a means for raising money and awareness for this disease. It starts with a challenge extended from one person to another to either donate a specified amount to an ALS charity or dump a bucket of ice water on their head. After accepting the challenge, the person then chooses a handful of friends for the same challenge.
In a matter of weeks, the Ice Bucket Challenge has been quite successful in achieving its objectives. From July 29 to August 29, the ALS Association, which is not the only charity that has received donations, raised over $100 million in donations.
Along with millions of others, the Paul Davis Restoration has taken part in this challenge. There are several franchises across the country have helped raise ALS awareness in their local communities with this challenge.
So keep an eye out for Paul Davis Ice Bucket Challenge videos as you are browsing the Internet with your friends or family.
