The wonderful tradition of Thanksgiving will soon bring families throughout America together once more. For many, this annual four-day fall holiday is their favorite time of year. With less emphasis on gift-giving and greater emphasis on giving thanks for everything one has, the spirit of Thanksgiving will again resonate throughout 125 million households in all 50 states.
Thanksgiving in the U.S. grew from a small gathering of European settlers and native Americans who came together for an autumn harvest celebration almost 400 years ago. Even today, the significance of this humble beginning lends a special meaning and importance to this unique holiday event every 4th Thursday in November. This year, especially, we at Paul Davis wish to extend thanks to our families, co-workers, associates and clients, friends and neighbors who throughout the year have helped make this 2016 Thanksgiving ever more appreciated.
As millions of people take to the highways and airways to visit relatives and friends this Thanksgiving, we wish everyone safe travels, wonderful times spent with others, and special hope for a bright, healthy, prosperous year ahead. If you are blessed this Thanksgiving with having young children in your midst, why not take some time to sit with them and explain why Thanksgiving is such an important time for them – an opportunity for them to be thoughtful and thankful to their parents, relatives, schoolmates and teachers for all that they do for them. If you also have relatives and friends who are seniors, recognizing what they have done to add joy to your life will make this Thanksgiving better than ever for them, too.
From your friends at Paul Davis, all the best this Thanksgiving holiday.
