Featured as one of Paul Davis’ “20 Women of 2020”, Leah Bradley Darr (IICRC WRT) is the Business Development Manager of Paul Davis Restoration of Tampa & surrounding areas.
When did you start working for Paul Davis, and what is some of your background with the company?
In December of 2014, I started as Business Development Representative and used my book of business paired with my industry experience to solidify relationships and bring in new leads from multiple verticals. Fast-forward 5 years, I am now the Director of Business Development with a small team to assist with our growth goals.
What was your employment background before onboarding with Paul Davis?
I started right out of college in the restoration industry. I worked with two different companies in Account Management, and Sales & Marketing before joining the Paul Davis team!
What interested you in becoming a part of the Paul Davis company? What steps did you take to make this possible?
I was familiar with Paul Davis, and knew they had a great reputation. I was seeking a company that was a good fit for me. I called it the Goldilocks Theory. The first restoration company I worked for was a small operation with only about five employees. From there I went to the largest restoration company in the world and got swallowed up, then I joined the Paul Davis team, and it was just right for me!
What does a typical workday look like for you? Would you mind elaborating on the daily duties of your position and what each include?
My duties differ from day to day but include setting up meetings, lunches, CE Classes, Lunch and Learns, training classes, networking, association meeting, dinners, golf tournaments, and attending Conferences. This is an autonomous role so goal setting, and celebrating the small victories is something that I try to practice daily. Driving new business and retaining our current clients is the number one goal. Everything I do is driven by that mantra!
Tell us some more about yourself.
I’m a wife to Matthew Darr, and a mother to our two-year-old, Roman. We love to travel and seek out adventure in anything we do.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Its funny, my COO and me were talking about this question the other day after interviewing someone for a position in my department and asking this very question. Something that I was also asked in my interview with Paul Davis and of course my answer then was “to be in the restoration industry and working for you and building on the relationships with carriers and property managers”. It’s pretty cool that I can look back on the last 5 years and know that interview question came to fruition. When I look forward to the next 5 years I hope for what most ambitious people hope for… growth. Paul Davis has provided me with so many opportunities and I hope to continue to grow within the company for as long as possible.
